Faculty & Staff: Your generosity leads the way

Behind every student is a community that believes in them.

By choosing to give back, you lead by exampledemonstrating your commitment to our students, your colleagues, and the future of our university. Whether you choose to support student wellness, scholarships and bursaries, your favourite athletics team, a faculty fund or another area that’s close to your heart, your support makes a difference.

Posed portrait of Allan Fein

Allan Fein

“I’m proud to support the McMaster fencing team—a community that’s seen me through the ups and downs of life. As a first-year student, I struggled to find my place until coach Dave O’Donnell welcomed me to the team. The friendships I made have lasted a lifetime. Now, as a coach, it’s my honour to share my passion for the sport with 80–100 athletes each year. As costs rise for students, I feel it’s my duty as an alumnus to help keep this team thriving. Watching students support one another, work hard, and grow through both success and failure—that’s why I give.”

-Allan Fein, McMaster Fencing Coach, Research Coordinator, Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Medicinal Cannabis Research & the Peter Boris Centre for Addictions Research, Coordinator, Canadian Medical Cannabis Trials Network

“I give to the Black Student Success Centre at McMaster because of the important work they do to support the emotional, social and academic well-being of Black students on campus, making them feel seen and acknowledged in a space where they often feel alienated.”

-Ingrid Waldron, Professor and HOPE Chair in Peace and Health, Global Peace and Social Justice, Faculty of Humanities
